Boinc offers far more computing power than any conventional supercomputer today.

Congratulation Boinc! Today the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) anounces to have 80,721 participants in 188 countries supplying 106 TeraFLOPS of computing power.

IBM’s Blue Gene/L tops the list as World’s Fastest Supercomputer with a sustained performance of 70.72 Teraflops. The Fastest supercomputer In Europe MareNostrum is expected to reach 40 Teraflops.

In the first half of 2005 IBM will install a 360 Teraflop Blue Gene/L supercomputer. Can BOINC keep up with Blue Gene/L?
